اسفند 22, 1389این بار ساعت زمین در برج میلاد
اسفند 22, 1389بار دیگر و برای پنجمین سال چشم دنیا به «ساعت زمین» دوخته شده است و در ایران نیز برای اولین بار همچون دیگر جهانیان قرار است گرد هم آییم تا در روز شنبه ششم فروردین ماه ۱۳۹۰ ساعت ۸:۳۰ تا ۹:۳۰ دوباره شاهد کاهش دمای زمین و نجات سرزمین‌مان باشیم..
اقدامی که به همت ستاد محیط زیست شهرداری تهران و با خاموش شدن چراغهای برج میلاد تهران محقق می‌شود. به امید اینکه در سالهای دیگر برج آزادی تهران و دیگر شهرهای ایران نیز با این برنامه همراه شوند.
شاید هزاران نفر ساعت برای تحقق «ساعت زمین» تلاش شده است تا توجه دنیا را به گرمایش زمین جلب کند و این حداقل حرکتی است که دلسوزان حفظ کره زمین دل به آن خوش کرده‌اند.
در این ساعت مردم دنیا با هم همدل شده و چراغهای خود را خاموش می‌کنند تا شاید کمی دمای این کره کاهش یابد؛ هر کس به اندازه توان خود. از خاموشی چراغ اتاق‌خواب گرفته تا همه چراغهای ساختمان‌ها، هتل‌های بزرگ و مکان‌های دیدنی و تاریخی.
اولین برنامه جهانی ساعت زمین، سال ۲۰۰۷ در حالی برگزار شد که تنها در استرالیا دو میلیون و ۲۰۰ هزار نفر عضو عادی و دو هزار عضو سازمانی داشت اما تا سال ۲۰۰۹ میلیون ها نفر از چهار هزار شهر در ۸۸ کشور عضو آن شدند و این آمار تا سال ۲۰۱۰ به ۱۲۸ شهر از سراسر دنیا رسید.
